East Meets East
June 11, 2010Tonight (Friday, June 11 from 5:00–9:00pm) is the opening reception for the Autumn Society’s “East Meets East” show. The show will feature work from ten artists: Jude Buffum / Matt Cavanaugh / Ray Chase / Eamon Doughtery / Alex Eckman-Lawn / Joseph Game / Maryann Held / Anthony Pedro / Jaclyn Sinquett / Tom Whalen
The focus of the exhibition will be a visual commentary on the impact of Japanese pop culture on our contemporary American culture, and vice versa. Complimentary Sapporo beer and Pocky will be served.
The pieces I created are based on Japanese “shunga” (erotica) and are kind of not-safe-for-work, so go to my Flickr page if you want to see them.
